Nut flavoured rice water porridge
Depending on where you are from your idea of breakfast could vary widely. In Thailand you may wake up to rice porridge mixed with garlic, in England a sumptuous English breakfast may await you and in Egypt it may well be beans with chickpeas and lentils. In Ghana a creamy rice water porridge perhaps with a slice or two of buttered bread may be what you wake up to.
Rice water porridge is one of those decadent-tasting Ghanaian breakfast that lends itself easily to a healthful nutty upgrade. With the addition of a mixed bag of nuts or more specifically seeds in this instance, rice water can be been turned into a delightful bomb of flavour. An absolute show stopper, I may add.

The only difference in this recipe to the basic is the addition of toppings.
Having mixed together the rice water and milk sprinkle a generous portion of the nuts in addition to mayple syrup. No artificial sugars are necessary as the syrup will give your rice water all the sweetness it needs. What may make you excited about this meal is not so much its richness, creaminess or sweetness but, the fact that you will be ramping up your superfood “nutritional” factor with seeds. The seeds add a bit of texture and creates a new dimension to traditional rice water porridge. In this version we added pumpkin, sunflower, golden lineseeds and sesame seeds. Other variations could have been our favourite Groundnuts, hazelnuts, pecans, walnuts, Brazil nuts or Some crushed South African style macadamia nuts.
