MyWeku Gardens: Our Event Décor Rentals – Accra Ghana

MyWeku Gardens takes off with a bang!

It’s been a hectic few months, filled with sourcing and shipping a whole variety of décor pieces to Accra, Ghana, to beef up our stock for our event and décor rentals in Ghana. Commissioning and working with craftsmen to build other event décor rental pieces is also on-going. This is a never ending process and that’s what makes our event décor rentals and event venue rental part of MyWeku in some ways more exciting than other ventures. Trends change and being able to predict what trends come into play in a given year requires real engagement with our customers and a keen eye on the event industry in Ghana and elsewhere which is always exciting.

An interesting bit of this is actually working with various partners and vendors to bring our customers’ vision and dreams into reality. It wasn’t that long ago that I was working feverishly to get our photo booth partner to edit a short “photo compilation” video of an event into something that would make people go wow! I recall having to stick this on Instagram only for Instagram to complain about the use of Rihanna’s “Diamond” soundtrack to our video. Anyway, Youtube had no such issues. Incidentally, the event that evening was also a cameo event for our soft opening. Smiling faces don’t lie. We had a blast!

We love seeing videos with our décor pieces. I guess everyone needs their egos massaged now and again but more importantly it amazes me how inventive and creative people are. Pieces we thought could only possibly be used for one thing or the other are often used completely differently by décor folks. One of our clients, The Event Hive, rented out a whole load of décor rental pieces for a traditional engagement ceremony in East Airport, Accra and sent us the video afterwards to drool over. We had simply never seen our cream Moroccan Tea Light Lanterns and our Bob Black Lanterns used as centre pieces yet. Our hanging terrariums were also creatively used, not as hanging décor pieces, but again as standalone centrepieces on rustic wooden slabs nicely positioned on hessian table runners. Impressive look!

Today I woke up to another rather impressive video of MyWeku Gardens. Our hanging glass baubles, string lights and collaborative partner’s chocolate fountains are all boldly displayed here to create an incredibly amazing ambience in our gardens for a 160 people event.
