Food meets Fashion: Style on bicycles
There is something mercurial and risqué about city bicycle riders in general. The concentration needed to weave through traffic and pedestrians alone means this is often reserved for a few unfazed souls. Add to it those who partake in this Russian roulette whilst looking elegant, chic or outrageously dressed and you have a crème de la crème of sorts.
This photo essay, curated over a period of time in different locations, whilst partaking in various foodie related activities, celebrates this select few. Rightly or wrongly, no dour looking helmets or style-unfriendly fluorescent green or orange safety jackets in sight. Not only are they doing their utmost for the environment, but seem to be doing it with the sort of infectious style and panache that the rest of us can’t help, but get tempted to join in! These girls or women on bicycles, could teach Serena Williams and Kim Kardashian how to tone up without stepping foot in a gym.
Fashion and style is an expression of self and identity, but put that style and fashion on two wheels and the style barometer smashes the scale into smithereens!
