The best food is created by chefs and cooks by being passionate about combining the right essential ingredients in the correct way. Guess what? So is the best branding! The best branding is created by people by being passionate about combining the right essential ingredients in the correct way.
Choosing a name either for a new born or indeed a new business is a big decision. Perhaps Kanye west’s and Kim Kardashian’s daughter “North West” will have a lot to say about the power of names or will she?
In business name choice is key. There is a story of a business man who named his business Ooomf. His friends thought it was great but the fact that all kept spelling the name differently led him to do a re-think. Ooomf is now Crew!
Surprisingly some of the biggest multinationals in the world have all at some point had a name change and I can see why. They include:
Sony (Tokyo Telecommunications Engineering)
Yahoo (Jerry’s Guide to the World Wide Web)
Nintendo (Marafuku Company)
AOL (Quantum Computer Services)
IBM (Computing Tabulating Recording Corporation)
Pepsi (Brad’s Drink)
