A thought for the restaurants attacked in the Paris shooting
Restaurants are supposed to be a haven where people go to unwind, socialise and refuel. On Friday the 13th 20015, this semblance of peace and tranquility was shattered in Paris as terrorists targeted and opened fire on diners. There were six separate attacks in Paris in total thought to have been carried out by just under a dozen gunmen. 4 of the attacks were aimed at restaurants and bars in Paris’ 10th and 11th districts.
Le Carillon bar, 18 rue Alibert, 10th district – gun attack
Le Petit Cambodge restaurant, 20 rue Alibert, 10th district – gun attack
La Belle Equipe, 92 rue de Charonne, 11th district – gun attack
La Casa Nostra restaurant, 2 rue de la Fontaine au roi, 11th district – gun attackParis has some of the finest restaurants in the world. It’s culture is built on the thinking that a restaurant is a fantasy film production in which diners are the most important cast members. Any puncture into that culture and the freedom that comes with it is a dagger through the hearts of Parisians.
Today as people around the world express their condolences, lets pray that the people and the restaurants attacked will be re-built from their fragmented remains.
That is after all the best possible response to barbarism.
Le Carillon Restaurant and Bar
Allegra Geller— 5 starI’ve spent some months in Paris for my PhD and I usually went to Le Carillon when I was around riding my Velib. I had a warm welcome and spent lovely moments there. All my warm thoughts are with you. Giulia from Italy
Audrey Ortiz — 5 starRemembering walking past Le Carillon every night while I stayed in Paris next door. It was such a lively and friendly place. My heart goes out to all who work here, eat here, or live in this area.
